Thixotropic Behavior of Reconstituted Debris-Flow Mixture

چکیده
Time-dependent rheological properties and thixotropy of reconstituted debris-flows samples taken from channel bank deposits are examined using a commercial rheometer equipped with vane rotor geometric system. Sweep tests creep were carried out involving mixtures having different grain concentrations ranging between 50% 58%. Different initial conditions the considered in order to analyze effects aging rejuvenation (thixotropy) over short period time long time. Tested slurries show viscosity bifurcation, yield stress time-dependent behavior. According experimental results, three regimes identified: lower shear rate regime, corresponding than critical value; an intermediate banding regime characterized by static dynamic level; higher where flowing debris behaves as non-Newtonian fluid constant steady state ultimate apparent viscosity. In any case, mixture sediment concentration affects rheology slurries’

Flow and Thixotropic Parameters for Rheological Characterization of Hydrogels.
The goal of this paper was to design several sodium carboxymethylcellulose hydrogels containing a BCS class II model drug and to evaluate their flow and thixotropic properties. The rheological measurements were performed at two temperatures (23 °C and 37 °C), using a rotational viscometer. The hydrogels were stirred at different time intervals (10 s, 2, 5, 10 and 20 min at 23 °C, and 10 s, 2 an...
متن کاملInfluence of rheology on debris-flow simulation
Systems of partial differential equations that include the momentum and the mass conservation equations are commonly used for the simulation of debris flow initiation, propagation and deposition both in field and in laboratory research. The numerical solution of the partial differential equations can be very complicated and consequently many approximations that neglect some of their terms have ...
متن کاملAssessing Debris Flow Hazard by Credal Nets
Debris flows are among the most dangerous and destructive natural hazards that affect human life, buildings, and infrastructures. Starting from the ’70s, significant scientific and engineering advances in the understanding of the processes have been achieved [4, 7]. Yet, human expertise is still fundamental for hazard identification, as many aspects of the whole process are poorly understood; a...
متن کامل[Research progress in post-fire debris flow].
The occurrence of the secondary disasters of forest fire has significant impacts on the environment quality and human health and safety. Post-fire debris flow is one of the most hazardous secondary disasters of forest fire. To understand the occurrence conditions of post-fire debris flow and to master its occurrence situation are the critical elements in post-fire hazard assessment. From the vi...
